A Blessing from Her Holiness Pujyashri Mathioli Saraswathy Amma
Our Ambal (Shree Amma) initiated Sankata Hara Chathurthi poojai in New Jersey during November 2013. SHE personally visited a store (that had vigrahams) in Chennai and carefully handpicked a small, beautiful Pancha Loka metal Ganesha for us. SHE wanted the devotees to experience HIS presence in their own homes. Thus, began this beautiful journey with Our Pillaiyar every month.
Sankatahara Chathurthi Pooja
This poojai happens every Sankata Hara Chaturthi just like SHE had stated. Each month, a devotee hosts this poojai at their place. The slots for the poojai gets filled very quickly every month by various devotees. Everyone is eager to have this poojai in their respective homes and yearn for THE Lord to grace their homes on this special day. Usually, Pillaiyar is booked not only for the whole year, but also the following year. Ambal also instructed that this poojai be performed in presence of a priest, who then guides the couple (whoever sponsored the poojai), to perform the abhishekam, etc for the Lord.

With HER blessings, this poojai happens in a grand scale and the magnificent thing is that we get to see everything from such close quarters. The poojai is done in an elaborate manner similar to any temple following the same rituals and traditions. On December 2017, Shree Amma was so pleased with the way we followed HER instructions and all the positive response. Seeing how we had brought the whole community together every month for this poojai, SHE decided to give us a bigger Vigraham of Lord Ganesha. Though HER health was extremely fragile, SHE along with Sivaganesh and myself, went to a place and handpicked another Ganesha for us. Again, a pancha loka metal vigraham.
MahaGanapathy's Divine Kavacham
SHE named HIM Sankata Vimochana Ganapathy. Our KING, EMPEROR, OUR EVERYTHING. SHE even got the silver kavacham made for HIM and handed it to us before we left for the US. SHE mentioned that every devotee who performs this poojai and welcomes Lord Ganesha into their homes, will witness HIS powers and feel HIS presence. Just like SHE had stated, every devotee got to witness HIS powers and continues to be mesmerized by HIS magnanimity to this present day. This vigraham given by Ambal HERSELF is very special and has been protecting devotees from the very first day from various obstacles in their lives. Every devotee has a story etched in their hearts connecting to HIM. We are so grateful that Ambal HERSELF gave us this vigraham which is not just a vigraham for us, but a Live God who stays with us, takes care of us, embraces us and protects us from so many obstacles that we are unaware of. HE is a magnet. HE just pulls every one closer. Devotees throng to do Seva for HIM. Those lucky ones who get to be close to HIM and do Seva for HIM on a regular basis are always under HIS umbrella and shade. In 2017, Ambal had asked us to have a Kavacha Seva poojai for Lord Ganesha during Aadi maasam and promised us that SHE would attend it. Then of course, we all know that Ambal left HER physical form the following year (2018 May 9th). We had the Kavacha Seva pooja during Aadi maasam (July 2019) based on HER guidance and blessings. It was the first grand event held for HIM for which Ambal, as promised, graced the occasion. All of us felt HER presence and were totally mesmerized by the immense positive vibrations. It was like we all had a happy tonic. It was an occasion to remember forever with grand abhishekam, chanting rudram/chamakam, processions of carrying Lord Ganesha around the temple premises, gummi aattam, bhajans, grand Aarti and more!
With HER blessings, Sankata Hara Chaturthi is happening in full swing for 12 years now. Hosting Lord Ganesha's Pooja is booked for almost a year and half ahead. The poojai is always celebrated in a grand scale and attended by devotees in huge numbers every month. We have a massive crowd whether it’s a weekday or a weekend. This poojai is even telecasted Live on our Channel and is viewed by devotees from all over the globe. With Lord Ganesha and Ambal’s grace, we hope this continues to grow more. We want more people to come and experience Their warmth and kindness. Our goal is to build a Cultural Center for HIM, so that HE has a place of HIS own and we can do this event in a more grander scale.
